We've always DVR-ed every new episode and return to it several times to enjoy the savor of the lines. Not this season. We kind of look at one another at the end and delete. What happened? I remember watching a Christmas episode with Alan's girlfriend/wife at the piano -- and finding some slight funny nuance each time.

I agree that the writing has become uneven and less funny. I think it is partly because it is harder for the writers to create new unexplored story lines. Because of this, I believe it is time for the show to evolve. That is of course if Cryer and Sheen are willing to stay on for a few more years. I believe one new character needs to be added. One of charlie's old flames meets an untimely death and leaves him with a new addition to the house, a 6 year old daughter.... call it Two and a half men plus one. (I think someone could come up with a much better name.)The Odd couple parnets of Charllie and Alan dealing with a little girl and the problems and challenges she create would add a wealth of new story lines and potential plot twists. Let your imagination take it from there.

2.5 Men is by far my favorite show. I actually make a point to be home for every new episode... and even some of the syndicated re-runs on the CW network. My wife and I also have all DVD sets released. Yeah, I'm gonna have to echo the sentiments of quite a few posters and say that yes, the writing seems to be a bit un-even this season. Heck yeah, I still get quite a few laughs from the show, and I still enjoy it.. I just wish they would tighten up a bit with some of the story lines, give the supporting cast more screen time, and reel Charlie and Alan back a bit. I find them almost cartoonish this season... a carry-over from the second half of season 5 in my opinion.I see a lot of people complaining about the Miss Pasternak episode. I wasn't too squeamish about the lap dance scene... i just thought it wasn't a good episode in terms of bringing back a character from season 2, and then making everything so unbelievably goofy. I was disapointed.

Fantastic show. Congrats on the People Choice Award! The writers should continue the Fantastic writing. I've never laughed so hard as I did tonight. It's good to see Jon's character getting some action.

I own all the dvd sets. The best stuff on TV. Now... lose Jake the "little Charlie". Jake needs to go to off to college, or Iraq, or the Hudson River. He's not funny any more, he's cynical and mean. A new little kid might be good, like the illegitimate child of one of Alans escapades. And how long does it take to write Judith out? She could go off to Tibet with one of her lovers (male or female, doesn't matter). Berta's great, maybe more interaction with her world. And last but not least, get creative, not repitative! More blatent sex is not the answer.

I just watched the Jan19th episode and had to comment. I was very upset by the homophobic writers use of the word "gay" as a negetive expression and also of the slur "mo" in the character "Jake's" lines. Why was this necessary? Are they just too stupid to think of entertaining scripts? The entire story about "Charlie" in Bangkok was unnecessary and offensive. This show has gone down the drain. It isn't funny in the least. I will not be watching this show anymore. My hope is that others will express their concern and these "writers" will be fired!

whitelorelei wrote: First off, I LOVE this show ... I tape every episode that airs (at least 2 a day), and I can watch them over and over and still find them to be the funniest, best written shows on the air..... and that's why I'm so disappointed in the new season so far. They're just not as funny. Alan's character seems to be digressing, not progressing. And why have they aged him so much this year? His haircut is awful, and it's as if he's lost his charm. And he's my favorite character!Jake's tough because he's not the cute kid anymore, but how many food jokes can there be? Give the guy a girlfriend or something. And for heaven's sake, do something with Charlie's hair! Sheesh .... it's hard to even look at him with it hanging in his face like that .... Charlie Sheen is a good looking guy -- take a look at the middle years: he's so much better looking when his hair is off his face.I just don't get it: they've turned Alan into a 50 year old neurotic, Jake into a minor character, and Charlie's more of a dirty old man than a lovable lech.Writers: have you even SEEN the previous seasons? It sure doesn't seem like you wrote for any of them! This is a fabulous show with a great history. Don't you DARE ruin it this year!
I totally agree, as Charlie looks so much better with his hair slicked back

im a huge fan of this show too, and i agree about jake. Hes very talented and i wish he had some great lines like he used to.I love this kid on season 3 and 4.., specially the episode when he goes shopping with Charlie to buy a present for his girlfriend Wendy Cho.. He was hilarious! Is great that hes growing up, but he has to be funnier then that. He has done a really amazing job on the previous seasons, he could do soo much better.

This show is hilarious. My husband and I have a good laugh every time we watch. I am amazed at how critical people here are. Writing is very difficult and all shows have their "slower" seasons. Like Seinfeld and the Simpsons. This show is still pretty funny in my opinion. And as far as Alan's age, I have not noticed. I am in my mid 20's and I think he looks great and doesn't seem old at all. And the show wouldn't be half as funny without him no matter what his hair looks like you weirdos! For all of you who are upset about the lap dance scene- I don't understand. This show is about sex!! Just record it and watch it after the kiddies are in bed! Seriously, how can you pick out that one scene and rant about it??!!

Hi writers, actors, producers and all involved in this great show. I adore the psychiatrist scenes, it's good to see a woman besting Charlie and scoring a few points for womankind. More Berta, more Alan and more Rose please. A real romance for Rose and Alan (together) would be brilliant. Maybe the show can move into "Two and a half men and a baby"..... girl? (Later to become a little lady) a la Tom Selleck and co. When Rose has Alan's love child she is initially involved in her daughter's care but has a post natal crisis, she then moves back home, next door and is a parttime Mom, as she chooses to step aside and relinquish the raising of her baby to Alan and Charlie. They are besotted with this tiny cherub and become doting fathers wrapped around the baby girls little finger. As she gets older some hilarious material could develop when she goes to Creche and Charlie has "flash forwards" of her being a ditzy Rose/Alan type teen/ blossoming young woman, with him fending off low life males much like himself. This can be instrumental in helping Charlie to at last modify his behaviour towards women when he becomes traumatised at the thought of Charlotte (Charlee Junior) being at the mercy of this type of guy. He can also use her as a chick magnet. Lots of material could be generated with maybe Alan and Roses' baby having playdates with Judith and Herbs' baby (boy?) Jake of course would also play a part in his sisters upbringing. Think of all the great poopy jokes from Berta etc....Best wishes and Many thanks for this light relief Kind regards Lindy Monrad

Two and 1/2 Men has been one of my favorites. This year, however, the show is disappointing. Where is the supporting cast? Evelyn. Berta, Rose, Judith and Jake were an important part of the shows success. Yet this year we rarely see them. I hope the writers realize that these people made the show. I can't see the show's success continuing without these people. I hope those in charge do "Get with the program."

Charlie Marries Rose, Alan falls in love with a Man and tries to get married.

Face it Alan is gay.

It would be Great to see Charlie and Rose as Husband and Wife.

Alan could be in a relationship with a man and be the wife of the couple.

I love this show, it's my favorite show ever. I've only seen a few episodes of the current (the 6th) season but so far it seems fine to me. Jake needs more lines, and more funnier ones. He's not the cute kid who makes fart jokes all day long anymore, unfortunately. I agree that Jake should get a girlfriend. Wendy Cho, anyone? They should get married when they're older - and then Wendy should dump Jake. Just like Alan Jake will turn out to be a complete and utter failure!Hopefully this wonderful show will continue for a few more years. I know that it eventually will die, two and a half men isn't like Simpsons. And that's a good thing imo! Don't replace any of the main actors/actresses - that would be a fatal mistake. The day when Sheen says he doesn't wanna do it anymore - or when they say he can't do it anymore - that's when it's time to end the sitcom of the sitcoms - Two And A Half Men.
